For more than four decades, Somerville Shell Auto Repair has been part of the automotive community in Somerville, NJ. The shop opened in 1980, and over the years, generations of local drivers have trusted our team to keep their vehicles maintained and repaired. We are proud of that history and the relationships that have grown from it.

A Shop Built on Experience

Our family's story at Somerville Shell Auto Repair began in 2005, when we took ownership of the shop from Mike Pupa. Mike had built a strong reputation over the years, and his knowledge was an important part of the shop's identity. After the ownership transition, he continued working alongside our family for another 15 years as the shop's master technician.

That experience gave us an opportunity to learn from someone who knew the business, the vehicles, and the local community exceptionally well. His long involvement also helped preserve the personal approach that has always been an important part of the shop.

Honoring Our Roots While Moving Forward

For many years, Somerville Shell Auto Repair operated as a traditional, old-school neighborhood repair shop. That approach helped us build lasting relationships with customers, and many of the people who visit us today have been coming back for years.

At the same time, we know the automotive industry is changing. Over the past several years, we've made a deliberate effort to modernize and improve the shop while keeping the personal service that our long-time customers value. We want to combine the trust and hands-on attention of a neighborhood repair shop with the technology, knowledge, and professional standards today's vehicles require.

Our team is ASE-certified, including B technicians, and we're connected with industry organizations and service networks such as TechNet, Shop Fix, and Repair Pal. Qualifying repairs are also supported by a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty.

For much of our history, our reputation has grown naturally through repeat business and recommendations from satisfied customers rather than traditional advertising. We're grateful to the local families who have chosen us year after year.
